Arts

Thanks so much for dropping by SelectSurf! We've scoured the web to identify the best Art websites for your reference.

If you were to look at SelectSurf.com’s refrigerator artwork, you’d think we were run by some very tech-savvy four-year-olds. Don’t let it get you down, though—our lack of fine art skills just makes us all the more excited whenever we find a cool new Arts site. Of course, we can’t keep from sharing it with all of you. Don’t expect everything to be Rembrandt and Beethoven, though. We have a very broad and (un)refined palate, so even if you haven’t touched a paintbrush or a clarinet since middle school (or ever), you might still find something to pique your interest. As you might tell by our allusions, this category is not restricted to any particular branch of the Arts. Music, theater, and the visual arts are all possibilities for inclusion, as well as anything else interesting we find. These links should help you learn about the history of creative expression in the world and introduce you to some pretty big names. Hopefully, some of them will also inspire you to try your hand at your own form of artistic expression. Imagine being able to impress your friends and loved ones by saying, “I drew/painted/composed/performed/wrote that.” Don’t be shy—even Shakespeare started somewhere. And isn’t your refrigerator looking a little bare, anyway?
